     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He fought in the First World War, at Gallipoli.2 He retired from the military in 1926, with the rank of officer, late of the Royal Fusiliers.2
