     Karl Graf zu Salm-Dhaun was born on 21 September 1675.1 He was the son of Johann Philipp Graf zu Salm-Dhaun and Anna Katharina Gräfin von Nassau-Ottweiler.1 He married Louise von Nassau-Ottweiler, daughter of Friedrich Ludwig Graf zu Nassau-Ottweiler and Christine Ahlefeldt, Comtesse d'Ahlefeldt, on 19 January 1704.1 He died on 26 March 1733 at age 57.1
