Richard Montagu Villiers was born on 10 September 1905.1 He was the son of John Russell Villiers and Grace Elizabeth Earle.2 He married Nancy Godwin, daughter of Lt.-Gen. Sir Charles Alexander Campbell Godwin, on 9 June 1932.1 He died on 8 August 1973 at age 67.1
Richard Montagu Villiers was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was wounded and mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Brigadier in the service of the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles).1 He was decorated with the Companion of the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) (and bar (1945)) in 1944.1
