     John Kurtz Maxtone Graham was born on 2 August 1929.1 He is the son of Laurence Patrick Maxtone Graham and Ellen Taylor.1 He married, secondly, Mary Bergeron.2 He married, firstly, Katrina Kanzler, daughter of Ernest Kanzler, on 4 June 1955.1
     John Kurtz Maxtone Graham was educated at Sedbergh School, Sedbergh, Cumberland, England.1 He was educated in 1951 at Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island, U.S.A., Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1952 in the service of the U.S. Marine Corps.1
