     Admiral Arthur William Edward Prothero was born on 18 April 1850.¹ He was the son of Rev. Canon George Prothero and Emma Money.¹ He married Lucy Ellicombe, daughter of G. B. Ellicombe, on 4 September 1894.¹ He died on 1 January 1931 at age 80.¹
     Admiral Arthur William Edward Prothero gained the rank of Admiral in the service of the Royal Navy.¹

Canon George Prothero and Emma Money.¹ He married, firstly, Mary Beatrice Bailward, daughter of John Bailward, on 15 August 1891.² He married, secondly, Barbara Jane Hamley, daughter of Lt.-Col. C. O. Hamley, on 9 April 1902.² He died on 1 July 1937 at age 85, without surviving male issue.¹
     Rowland Edmund Prothero, 1st Baron Ernle was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England.² He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1878 entitled to practice as a Barrister-at-Law.² He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1878 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).² He was editor of the Quarterly Review between 1894 and 1899.² He was Agent-in-Chief to the Duke of Bedford between 1898 and 1918.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for the University of Oxford between 1914 and 1919.² He held the office of President of the Board of Agriculture and Fisheries between 1916 and 1919.² He was created 1st Baron Ernle, of Chelsea, co. London [U.K.] on 4 February 1919.² He wrote the book English Farming Past and Present.² He wrote the book The Psalms in Human Life.² On his death, his title became extinct.²

     Mary Beatrice Bailward was the daughter of John Bailward.¹ She married Rowland Edmund Prothero, 1st Baron Ernle, son of Rev. Canon George Prothero and Emma Money, on 15 August 1891.¹ She died on 3 May 1899.¹
     From 15 August 1891, her married name became Prothero.¹

     Barbara Jane Hamley was the daughter of Lt.-Col. C. O. Hamley.¹ She married Rowland Edmund Prothero, 1st Baron Ernle, son of Rev. Canon George Prothero and Emma Money, on 9 April 1902.¹ She died on 26 November 1930.¹
     From 9 April 1902, her married name became Prothero.¹ As a result of her marriage, Barbara Jane Hamley was styled as Baroness Ernle on 4 February 1919.

     Rowland John Prothero was born on 23 June 1894.¹ He was the son of Rowland Edmund Prothero, 1st Baron Ernle and Mary Beatrice Bailward.¹ He died on 8 November 1918 at age 24 at Mesopotamia, from wounds received in action.¹ He was buried at Mesopotamia.¹
     Rowland John Prothero was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.¹ He was commissioned on 17 September 1913, in the service of the 7th Hussars.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹
