     Colonel Henry Gerard Hegan Kennard was born on 28 March 1871.3 He was the son of Adam Steinmetz Kennard and Grace Ellen Hegan.2 He married Nancy Poyser, daughter of Colonel R. Poyser, on 15 January 1895.3
     Colonel Henry Gerard Hegan Kennard was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.3 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He was Lieutenant-Colonel and Brevet-Colonel of the 5th Dragoon Guards.3 He was commander of the Dublin Garrison between 1915 and 1918.1
