     Hon. Nicolas Avrion Mitchison was born on 5 May 1928.1 He is the son of Gilbert Richard Mitchison, Baron Mitchison and Naomi May Margaret Haldane.1 He married Lorna Margaret Martin, daughter of Maj.-Gen. John Simson Stuart Martin, on 30 July 1957.1
     Hon. Nicolas Avrion Mitchison usually went by his middle name of Avrion.3 He was invested as a Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.).1 He was Professor of Zoology at London University, London, England.3 He has two sons and two other daughters.1

     Vere Gosling was the daughter of Ellis Gosling.1 She married George Edward Milnes Monckton-Arundell, 7th Viscount Galway, son of George Edward Arundell Monckton-Arundell, 6th Viscount Galway, on 24 July 1879.1 She died on 3 January 1921.1
     Vere Gosling was invested as a Lady of Justice, Order of St. John of Jerusalem (L.J.St.J.).1 From 24 July 1879, her married name became Monckton-Arundell.1
