     Leifchild Stratten Leif-Jones, 1st and last Baron Rhayader was born on 16 January 1862.1 He was the son of Reverend Thomas Jones and Jane Jones.1 He died on 26 September 1939 at age 77.1

(Liberal) for North Westmorland between 1905 and 1910.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Nottinghamshire, Rushcliffe Division between 1910 and 1918.1 He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1917.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Cornwall, Camborne Division between 1923 and 1924.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Cornwall, Camborne Division between 1929 and 1931.1 On 11 January 1932 his name was legally changed to Leifchild Stratten Leif-Jones by Deed Poll.1 He was created 1st Baron Rhayader, of Rhayader, co. Radnor [U.K.] on 25 January 1932.1 On his death, his title became extinct.1
