     Emily Merelina Meymott is the daughter of John Clarke Meymott.1 She married Alexander Burns Shand, 1st and last Baron Shand, son of Alexander Shand and Louisa Whyte, in 1857.1
     From 1857, her married name became Shand.1 As a result of her marriage, Emily Merelina Meymott was styled as Baroness Shand on 20 August 1892.
