     John Michael Poyntz was born on 13 August 1891.1 He was the son of Reverend Nathaniel Castleton Stephen Poyntz and Helen Willis Minor.2 He married Nancy Lawley in 1910.1 He died in July 1925 at age 33.1
     He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England.1 He was educated at Faraday House.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Royal Flying Corps.1

     He was educated at Brighton College, Brighton, Sussex, England.1 He was Cadet with the Merchant Navy between 1925 and 1927.1 He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1945, in the Royal Air Force.1 He lived in 1965 at Windjammers, Church Road, Elmstead, Essex, England.1
