Matthew Moreton, 2nd Lord Ducie, Baron of Moreton was born before 1700.1 He was the son of Matthew Ducie Moreton, 1st Lord Ducie, Baron of Moreton and Arabella Prestwich.1 He died on 25 December 1770, unmarried.1
Matthew Moreton, 2nd Lord Ducie, Baron of Moreton held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Cricklade from 1721 to 1722.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Calne between 1723 and 1727.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Glocuester from 1727 to 1728.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Tregony between 1729 and 1734.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Lostwithiel between March 1735 and May 1735.1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Lord Ducie, Baron of Moreton, co. Stafford [G.B., 1720] on 2 May 1735.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire between 1755 and 1758.1 He was created 1st Baron Ducie of Tortworth, co. Gloucester [Great Britain] on 27 April 1763, with a special remainder to his nephews Thomas and Francis Reynolds.1 On his death, the barony of Ducie became extinct.1
