     Richard Francis Ernest Cochrane was born on 18 September 1873.1 He was the son of Captain Hon. Ernest Grey Lambton Cochrane and Elizabeth Frances Maria Katherine Doherty.2 He died on 16 February 1959 at age 85, unmarried.1
     Richard Francis Ernest Cochrane gained the rank of Captain and Honorary Major in the service of the 5th Battalion, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Donegal in 1908.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Donegal.1 He lived at Red Castle, County Donegal, Ireland.1
