     Major Dudley Henry Alexander was born on 13 January 1863.1 He was the son of Henry Alexander and Lady Louisa Juliana Knox.1 He died on 30 July 1931 at age 68, unmarried.1
     Major Dudley Henry Alexander was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England.1 He was invested as a Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.).1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the West Yorkshire Regiment.1 He gained the rank of Adjutant between 1894 and 1897 in the service of the 3rd Volunteer Battalion Bedford Regiment.1 He was the Private Secretary to The Governor of New Zealand, (his cousin Lord Ranfurly) between 1897 and 1904.1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1904.1 He fought in the First World War, as a General Staff Officer, 3rd grade.1 He was invested as a Knight, Grace of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem (K.G.St.J.).1

     Blanche Catherine Sophia Anne Alexander was born on 10 December 1841.1 She was the daughter of Henry Alexander and Lady Louisa Juliana Knox.1 She married Reverend Frederick Anthony Hammond, son of Colonel unknown Hammond, on 4 September 1877, without issue.1 She died on 16 June 1878 at age 36.1
     From 4 September 1877, her married name became Hammond.1
