     John Andrews was born in 1721.1 He was the son of Thomas Andrews and Agnes Reid.1 He married Mary Corbitt, daughter of Michael Corbitt, in 1746.1 He died on 3 June 1808.1
     John Andrews lived at Comber, County Down, Ireland.1 He was in 1745 in the service of the Belfast Volunteers, garrisoning at Carrickfergus Castle, Carrickfergus, County Antrim, Ireland.1 He built a residence at Comber, County Down, Ireland, later known as 'The Old House.1' He gained the rank of Officer in 1760 in the service of the County Down Foot Regiment.1 He was the organizer and Commanding Officer of a Volunteer Company between 1779 and 1788.1 He purchased the townland of Carnesure, Comber, County Down, Ireland, 1783.1 He was a linen-bleacher, miller, soapboiler, chandler, and farmer, he had built a bleach-mill and a flour mill.1

     Thomas Andrews held the office of the Churchwarden of Comber in 1774.1 He leased Green Hall, Bleach-Green, Ballymena, County Antrim, Ireland between 1774 and 1779.1 He emigrated to Jamaica.1
