     Captain Charles Albert Fremantle was born on 15 March 1878.1 He was the son of Hon. Sir Charles William Fremantle and Sophia Smith.1 He married Margaret Griselda Wedderburn, daughter of Sir William Wedderburn, 4th Bt., on 19 April 1906.1 He died in July 1952 at age 74.1
     Captain Charles Albert Fremantle fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He was decorated with the Order of St. Stanislas of Russia (2nd Class with swords).1 He was decorated with the Chevalier, Legion of Honour.1 He was decorated with the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.1
