Captain Charles John Cary, 9th Viscount Falkland was born in November 1768.1 He was the son of Lucius Ferdinand Cary, Master of Falkland and Anne Leith.1 He married Christiana Anton on 25 August 1802.1 He died on 2 March 1809 at age 40, mortally wounded in a duel with Arthur Powell two days later.1
