     Lieutenant Henson Bancroft was born in 1840.1 He was the son of Peter Bancroft and Georgina Chappell.1 He married Matilda Isles at Australia, they had seven additional children.1 He died in 1908.1
     Lieutenant Henson Bancroft was a steeplechase jockey, duellist, and sometime officer with a French Arab cavalry unit in Morocco or Algiers.1 He was commissioned in 1863, in the service of the 15th Hussars.1 He was an Aide-de-Camp to HRH The Duke of Cambridge.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the 17th Lancers.1 He lived at Allerton House, Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey, England.1
