     Captain Charles William Harold-Barry was born on 21 May 1897.1 He was the son of Harold Philip Harold-Barry and Helen Frances Mary Riddell.2 He married Mary Kathleen Sherlock, daughter of David Thomas Joseph Sherlock, on 30 November 1944.1
     Captain Charles William Harold-Barry was educated at St. George's College, Weybridge, Surrey, England.1 He fought in the First World War, as a Captain with the Royal Munster Fusiliers and the Machine Gun Corps (M.G.C.).1 He was decorated with the award of Military Cross (M.C.) in 1918.1 He lived at Ballyvonare House, Buttevant, County Cork, Ireland.1
