     Caroline Augusta Smith-Barry was born illegitimately.2 She was the daughter of James Hugh Smith-Barry.1 A settlement for the marriage between her and George Courtenay was made on 29 July 1814, they also had two sons who died before their mother.1 She died on 28 May 1853.1
     From 29 July 1814, her married name became Courtenay.1

     George Courtenay was the son of Robert Courtenay and Catherine Nash.1 A settlement for the marriage between him and Caroline Augusta Smith-Barry was made on 29 July 1814, they also had two sons who died before their mother.1 He died on 10 December 1837.1
     George Courtenay held the office of High Sheriff of County Cork in 1826.1
