     Captain Rowland Edward Berkeley was born on 28 September 1832.1 He was the son of Comyns Rowland Berkeley and Mary Ann Lateward.1 He married, firstly, Alice Rushbridger, daughter of Joseph Rushbridger, on 2 July 1878.1 He married Kathleen Edith Swainson, daughter of Christopher Grandorge Swainson, in 1916.1 He died on 19 December 1926 at age 94.1
     Captain Rowland Edward Berkeley gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Navy.1
