     Commander Denis John Pack-Beresford was born on 27 October 1905.1 He is the son of Lt.-Col. Henry John Pack-Beresford and Sybil Maud Bell.2 He married, firstly, Basante Hoskins on 14 January 1928.1 He and Basante Hoskins were divorced in 1931.1 He married, secondly, Daphne Martineau, daughter of Lieutenant Horace Robert Martineau, V.C. and Amy Werdmuller, on 24 November 1933.1
