     William Augustus Blakeney was baptised on 30 January 1772 at Chatham, Kent, England.2 He was the son of Colonel William Blakeney and Sarah Shields.1 He married Sarah O'Dell.1 He died on 3 September 1848 at age 76.1
     He gained the rank of Major in 1804 in the 87th Regiment.1

John Theophilus Blakeney1

     John Theophilus Blakeney was the son of Colonel William Blakeney and Sarah Shields.1 He died on 31 March 1856, unmarried, aged 82.1
     He graduated from St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1801 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-law.1 He was a Senior Fellow at St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.1

     Lt.-Col. Thomas Blakeney was the son of Colonel William Blakeney and Sarah Shields.1 He died on 2 July 1808 at Trincomalee, Sri LankaG, unmarried.1
     He was Lieutenant-Colonel commanding the 1st Battalion Royal (66th) Berkshire Regiment in 1806.1

Field Marshall Rt. Hon. Sir Edward Blakeney1

     Field Marshall Rt. Hon. Sir Edward Blakeney was born on 26 March 1778.1 He was the son of Colonel William Blakeney and Sarah Shields.1 He married Mary Gardiner, daughter of Colonel Thomas Gardiner, on 5 May 1814 in a childless marriage.1 He died on 2 August 1868 at age 90.1
     He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1815.1 He was appointed Knight of the Tower and Sword (Portugal.)1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)1 He was Colonel of the Royal Fusiliers in 1832.1 He was Commander of the Forces in Ireland between 1835 and 1855.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Hanoverian Order (G.C.H.) in 1836.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.) in 1849.1 He was Colonel of the Royal Scots in 1854.1 He held the office of Governor of Chelsea Hospital in 1856.1

Mary Gardiner1

     Mary Gardiner was the daughter of Colonel Thomas Gardiner.1 She married Field Marshall Rt. Hon. Sir Edward Blakeney, son of Colonel William Blakeney and Sarah Shields, on 5 May 1814 in a childless marriage.1 She died on 21 January 1866.1
     From 5 May 1814, her married name became Blakeney.1

Captain Samuel Blakeney1

     Captain Samuel Blakeney was the son of Colonel William Blakeney and Sarah Shields.1 He died unmarried at Fort Santa Lucia, Jupiter, Florida, U.S.A.G, killed in action.1 He died intestate and his estate was administered on 6 June 1806.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 68th Regiment of Foot.1
