     Lt.-Col. Charles Edward Gore Vesey was born on 27 May 1871.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. George Henry Vesey and Constance Marshall.1 He married Mary Dorothea Loring, daughter of Arthur Henry Loring, on 16 December 1920.1 He died on 17 April 1958 at age 86.1
     Lt.-Col. Charles Edward Gore Vesey fought in the Ashanti Expedition between 1895 and 1896.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Royal Engineers.1 He was decorated with the award of 1914 Star in 1914.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.1

     Mary Dorothea Loring was the daughter of Arthur Henry Loring.1 She married Lt.-Col. Charles Edward Gore Vesey, son of Maj.-Gen. George Henry Vesey and Constance Marshall, on 16 December 1920.1 She died on 21 June 1966.1
     From 16 December 1920, her married name became Vesey.1
