     Harry Bennett Rountree was born in 1897.1 He was the son of Joseph Rountree and Susannah Bennett.1 He died on 27 July 1923 at Tinwald, Ashburton, New Zealand, a tree felling accident.1,2 He was buried at Ashburton Public Cemetery, Ashburton, New Zealand.3
     Harry Bennett Rountree was a labourer in 1916 at Willowby, Canterbury, New Zealand.4 Harry served in the NZ Cyclists Battalion, 1st NZEF on 11 October 1916 as a private 29193.3,4
