     George Minchin was born in 1775.1 He was the son of George Minchin.1 He married Rebecca (?).1 He died on 19 December 1875.1
     George Minchin gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1794 in the service of the R. I. Foot.1 He gained the rank of at New Brunswick, Canada, in the service of the Fencible Corps.1 He was a merchant at Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Fredericton Voluntary Militia.1 He held the office of Member of the Legislative Council (M.L.C.) [New Brunswick] between 1843 and 1873.1
