     John Giffard was born in 1612.1 He was the son of John Giffard and Elizabeth Tremaine.2 He married Elizabeth Champernowne, daughter of Arthur Champernowne.1 He died after 1666, without issue.1
     John Giffard lived at Halsbury.1 In 1666 He settled the Halsbury estate (improverished by fines paid for recusancy) on his kinsman Roger Giffard.1
