     Commander Edmund Walker Yorke was born on 31 July 1857.1 He was the son of Rear-Admiral Reginald Yorke and Harriet Walker.2 He married Beatrice Isabel Thomas, daughter of General Sir Francis William Thomas, in 1896.1 He died on 8 December 1912 at age 55, without issue.1
     Commander Edmund Walker Yorke gained the rank of Commander in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He was the Harbour Master at Wei-Hai-Wei, China.1
