Sir Patrick Hamilton was the son of Sir Thomas Hamilton, Lord Priestfield and Elizabeth Heriot.1 He married Elizabeth Macmorran, daughter of Ninian Macmorran, on 18 March 1613.1 He died in 1662.1

General Alexander Hamilton was the son of Sir Thomas Hamilton, Lord Priestfield and Elizabeth Heriot.1 He married, firstly, unknown daughter Dalziel, daughter of Thomas Dalziel of Binns.1 He married unknown Cochrane.1 He and Elizabeth Crichton obtained a marriage license on 13 January 1649.1 He died on 26 November 1649.1
