     Alexander William Jardine was born in 1843 at New South Wales, Australia.1,2 He was the son of John Jardine and Elizabeth Jane Craig.3 He married, firstly, Charlotte Elizabeth Mosman, daughter of Archibald Mosman and Harriet Farquharson, in 1883.1 He married, secondly, Fanny Evis Harding in 1911 at Queensland, Australia.2 He died on 20 March 1920 at Paddington, London, England.1,2
     He was registered as a Member, Institute of Civil Engineers (M.Inst.C.E.).1

     He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded.1 He was a fruit inspector, Agriculture Department at Stanthorpe, Queensland, Australia.3
