Brigadier William George Hewett was born on 4 September 1894.1 He was the son of Charles William Hewett and Marianne Ellen Munn.2 He married, firstly, Louise Susan Wolfe, daughter of Francis R. Wolfe, on 19 April 1922.1 He and Louise Susan Wolfe were divorced in 1931.1 He married, secondly, Beatrice Donegan, daughter of Lt.-Col. James Francis Donegan, on 11 June 1932.1 He died in 1973.1
Brigadier William George Hewett fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches five times, and was wounded.1 He gained the rank of Brevet Major.1 He was decorated with the award of Croix de Guerre.1 He was decorated with the award of Military Cross (M.C.)
