     Sir Philip Henry Rathbone Whitehead, 4th Bt. was born on 24 July 1897.¹ He is the son of Sir Rowland Edward Whitehead, 3rd Bt. and Ethel Mary Leonie Rathbone.² He married, firstly, Gertrude Palmer, daughter of John C. Palmer, on 17 September 1929.¹ He and Gertrude Palmer were divorced in 1938.¹ He married, secondly, Margery Hickes, daughter of Edward Weston Hickes, on 3 October 1946.¹ He died on 31 December 1953 at age 56.¹
     Sir Philip Henry Rathbone Whitehead, 4th Bt. was educated at Clifton College, Clifton, Bristol, Gloucestershire, England.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry.¹ He fought in the Second World War, with the Intelligence Corps.¹ He succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Whitehead, of Catford, Kent [U.K., 1889] on 9 October 1942.¹

     Gilbert Rathbone Whitehead was born on 15 October 1910.¹ He was the son of Sir Rowland Edward Whitehead, 3rd Bt. and Ethel Mary Leonie Rathbone.² He married Adeline Joy Rumball, daughter of Sydney Frederick Rumball, on 15 September 1934.¹ He died on 18 May 1968 at age 57.¹
     Gilbert Rathbone Whitehead graduated from University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1933 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).¹ He graduated from University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1938 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Royal Artillery (TARO).¹ He was Governor at Appleby Grammar School, Appleby, Westmorland, England.¹ He was Governor at Clifton College, Clifton, Bristol, Gloucestershire, England.¹ He was decorated with the award of Territorial Decoration (T.D.) in 1950.¹

     Adeline Joy Rumball is the daughter of Sydney Frederick Rumball.¹ She married Gilbert Rathbone Whitehead, son of Sir Rowland Edward Whitehead, 3rd Bt. and Ethel Mary Leonie Rathbone, on 15 September 1934.¹
     From 15 September 1934, her married name became Whitehead.

     Gilia Fleur Whitehead was born on 29 March 1936.¹ She is the daughter of Gilbert Rathbone Whitehead and Adeline Joy Rumball.² She married Martin Oliver Slocock, son of Oliver Charles Ashley Slocock, on 20 August 1960.¹ She and Martin Oliver Slocock were divorced in 1990.¹
     Gilia Fleur Whitehead graduated from London University, London, England, with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.).¹ She graduated from St. Anne's College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).¹ From 20 August 1960, her married name became Slocock.
