      Her married name became Dawnay.

     Major Thomas John Arnott was born on 12 April 1899.1 He was the son of Major Sir John Alexander Arnott, 2nd Bt. and Caroline Sydney Williams.1 He married Lettice Mary Crompton-Roberts, daughter of Lt.-Col. Charles Montagu Crompton-Roberts and Winifred Eyre Greenwell, on 29 September 1927.1 He died on 16 July 1979 at age 80.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the 15th Hussars.1 He was decorated with the award of the U.S. Silver Star.1 He lived at Cirencester, Gloucestershire, England.
