     William Clay Ford was born on 14 March 1925.1 He is the son of Edsel Bryant Ford and Eleanor Lowthian Clay.1 He married Martha Parke Firestone, daughter of Harvey Samuel Firestone, Jr. and Elizabeth Parke, on 21 June 1947.1
     William Clay Ford fought in the Second World War, with the U.S. Navy Air Corps.1 He was a director of the Ford Motor Company between 1948 and 2005.1 He graduated from Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut, U.S.A., in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Economics.1
