George Ernest Hugh Le Fanu1

     George Ernest Hugh Le Fanu was born on 18 September 1874.1 He was the son of William Joseph Henry Le Fanu and Katharine Mary Moore.2 He married Mary Beatrice Fisher, daughter of H. W. Fisher, in 1915.1 He died on 25 July 1965 at age 90.1
     He was educated at Germany.1 He graduated from Aberdeen University, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.).1 He was with the West African Medical Service between 1907 and 1926.1 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1916, in the Togoland Campaign.1 He was Consultant Physician to the Colonial Office between 1928 and 1945 at Liverpool, Lancashire, England.1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1945.1 He lived at Greenfield, South Brent, Devon, England.1
