James Minchin was born on 1 March 1799.1 He was the son of James Andrews Minchin and Phoebe Marman.2 He married Elizabeth Tewlett on 15 January 1821.1 He died circa July 1837.1 He was buried on 20 July 1837 at Upper Swan, Western Australia, Australia.1
