     Rev. Canon Philip John Cocks was born on 31 October 1866.1 He was the son of Reverend Henry Bromley Cocks and Harriet Elizabeth Wodehouse.2 He married Mary Hannah Gebbie, daughter of John Gebbie, in 1895.1 He died on 23 October 1938 at age 71.1
     Rev. Canon Philip John Cocks was the Rector at Clovelly, Devon, England.1 He was the Rector at Waimate, New Zealand.1 He held the office of Canon of Christchurch.1
