James de Vismes Drummond-Hay was born on 6 November 1834.1 He was the son of Edward William Auriol Drummond-Hay and Louisa Margaret Thomson.2 He married, firstly, Caroline Molinaris in 1854.1 He married, secondly, Emily Louisa Price, daughter of R. Evans Price, in 1873.1 He married, thirdly, Annie Munro, daughter of Henry Hugh Munro, on 27 March 1884.1 He died on 16 January 1886 at age 51.1
