     David Davies, 3rd Baron Davies was born on 2 October 1940.1 He is the son of David Michael Davies, 2nd Baron Davies and Ruth Eldrydd Dugdale.2 He married Beryl Oliver, daughter of William James Oliver, on 24 July 1972.1
     David Davies, 3rd Baron Davies succeeded to the title of 3rd Baron Davies, of Llandinam, co. Montgomery [U.K., 1932] on 25 September 1944.1 He was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.3 He graduated from King's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1961 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He graduated from King's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1965 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He graduated with a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.).1 He was registered as a Member, Institution of Civil Engineers (M.I.C.E.).1 He was chairman of the Welsh National Opera between 1975 and 2000.1 He was registered as a Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.).1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Powys in 1997.1 He lived in 2003 at Plas Dinam, Llandinam, Powys, Wales.1 He held the office of Vice-Lord-Lieutenant of Powys in 2004.1
