Bertram Leo French and Maud Mary Dease.2 He married, firstly, Heather Stewart Tarbutt, daughter of Arthur Charles Tarbutt, on 4 September 1958.1 He and Heather Stewart Tarbutt were divorced in 1965.1 He married, secondly, Lavinia Mary Burke, daughter of Major Patrick Henry Anthony Burke and Rosemary Maud Evelyn Sandars, on 17 August 1965.1
     Major Maurice Aloysius French was educated at Ampleforth College, Ampleforth, Yorkshire, England.1 He fought in the Korean War between 1952 and 1953, where he was mentioned in despatches.3 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Royal Fusiliers.1 He was invested as a Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1976.1 He lived in 2003 at 71 East Street, Warminster, Wiltshire, England.1
