     William Gaven Eden was born on 26 July 1849.1 He was the son of Reverend Arthur Eden and Alice Julia Whitney.2 He married Augusta Rose Bell, daughter of Matthew Bell, on 4 January 1876.1 He died on 27 January 1931 at age 81.1
     William Gaven Eden gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Royal Navy.1
