Fanny O'Connell was born on 29 September 1861.1 She was the daughter of General Hugh Heefké O'Connell and Eliza Reeve Harris.2 She died on 4 July 1862.1

Octavia Stevens was the daughter of Robert White Stevens.2 She married Hugh Hamlyn O'Connell, son of General Hugh Heefké O'Connell and Eliza Reeve Harris, on 25 July 1888.1 She died on 29 August 1943.1

Hugh Gleadowe O'Connell was born on 23 May 1889.1 He was the son of Hugh Hamlyn O'Connell and Octavia Stevens.2 He married Phyllis Rutter Simpson, daughter of W. J. Simpson, on 16 December 1915.1 He died on 3 May 1969 at age 79.1
Hugh Gleadowe O'Connell was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in 1911 in the service of the Northamptonshire Regiment.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Hampshire Regiment.1 He was decorated with the award of Military Cross (M.C.).1 He was a tea planter and Manger of Rutland Estate at Hewaketa, Sri Lanka.1
