     Charles Patrick Norton, 2nd Baron Rathcreedan was born on 26 November 1905.1 He was the son of Cecil William Norton, 1st Baron Rathcreedan and Marguerite Cecil Huntington.1 He married Ann Pauline Bastian, daughter of Surgn.-Capt. William Bastian and Lilian M. Williams, on 7 August 1946.2 He died in 1990.1
     He was educated at Wellington College, Wellington, Berkshire, England.1 He graduated from Lincoln College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1928 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baron Rathcreedan, of Bellehatch Park, co. Oxford [U.K., 1916] on 7 December 1930.1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1931 entitled to practice as a barrister.1 He graduated from Lincoln College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1935 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was a practising solicitor in 1936.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry (Territorial Army).1 He fought in the Second World War, where he became a POW.1 He was decorated with the award of the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1

     Marguerite Cecil Huntington was born in 1881 at Darwen, Lancashire, England.2 She was the daughter of Sir Charles Philip Huntington, 1st Bt.1 She married Cecil William Norton, 1st Baron Rathcreedan, son of Reverend William Norton and Caroline Theresa Riddock, on 21 July 1903.1 She died on 26 May 1955.1
     From 21 July 1903, her married name became Norton.1 As a result of her marriage, Marguerite Cecil Huntington was styled as Baroness Rathcreedan on 27 January 1916.
