     James Nicholas Murphy was born on 30 October 1814.1 He was the son of Nicholas Murphy and Susan Donegan.2 He died on 15 March 1847 at age 32, unmarried.1
     He was educated abroad, which ruined his health.1 He was a supporter of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.1

     John Nicholas Murphy was baptised on 20 December 1815.1 He was the son of Nicholas Murphy and Susan Donegan.2 He married Alice Mary Leahy, daughter of Daniel Leahy, on 17 September 1855.1 He died on 2 September 1889 at age 73.1
     He held the office of Mayor of Cork in 1854.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Cork.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of the City of Cork in 1857.1 He wrote the book Terra Incognita or Convents of the United Kingdom.1 He wrote the book Ireland, Industrial Political and Social.1 He was created County Murphy [Papal States].1 He lived at Clifton, Montenotte, County Cork, IrelandG.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Cork.1 He lived at Toomclery, County Limerick, IrelandG.1
