     Sir John Charles Edmund Carson Meade, 6th Earl of Clanwilliam was born on 6 June 1914.¹ He was the son of Sir Arthur Vesey Meade, 5th Earl of Clanwilliam and Muriel Stephenson.¹ He married Catherine Loyd, daughter of Arthur Thomas Loyd, on 1 December 1948.¹ He died on 30 March 1989 at age 74.¹
     Sir John Charles Edmund Carson Meade, 6th Earl of Clanwilliam was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.¹ He fought in the Second World War, in the Middle East and France, and was mentioned in despatches.² He retired from the military in 1948, with the rank of Major, late of the Coldstream Guards.³ He succeeded to the title of 6th Viscount Clanwilliam, of co. Cork [I., 1703] on 23 January 1953.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Down between 1957 and 1962.² He held the office of Lieutenant of County Down between 1962 and 1975.² He was invested as a Companion, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (C.St.J.) in 1975.² He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of County Down between 1975 and 1979.³

     Catherine Loyd is the daughter of Arthur Thomas Loyd.¹ She married Sir John Charles Edmund Carson Meade, 6th Earl of Clanwilliam, son of Sir Arthur Vesey Meade, 5th Earl of Clanwilliam and Muriel Stephenson, on 1 December 1948.¹
     Her married name became Meade. As a result of her marriage, Catherine Loyd was styled as Countess of Clanwilliam on 23 January 1953. She lived in 2003 at Maizley Cottage, Oare, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England.²

     Arthur Thomas Loyd died before 1963.

     From 28 October 1972, her married name became Timpson. She lived in 2003 at Ardington Croft, Wantage, Oxfordshire, England.³

David Beckwith Rodd, son of Thomas Rodd, in October 1954.¹ She died on 26 July 1965 at age 55.¹
     From 29 August 1934, her married name became Hermon. From 1946, her married name became Stanley-Clarke. From October 1954, her married name became Rodd.

     Colonel Robert Arthur Hermon is the son of Lt.-Col. Edward William Hermon.² He married Lady Mary Anne Selina Meade, daughter of Sir Arthur Vesey Meade, 5th Earl of Clanwilliam and Muriel Stephenson, on 29 August 1934.³ He and Lady Mary Anne Selina Meade were divorced in 1946.³
     Colonel Robert Arthur Hermon gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the The Royals.¹ He lived at Breda, Alford, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.¹ He was decorated with the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.).¹ He was invested as a Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.).¹
