Sir John Charles Edmund Carson Meade, 6th Earl of Clanwilliam was born on 6 June 1914.1 He was the son of Sir Arthur Vesey Meade, 5th Earl of Clanwilliam and Muriel Stephenson.1 He married Catherine Loyd, daughter of Arthur Thomas Loyd, on 1 December 1948.1 He died on 30 March 1989 at age 74.1
