     George William de Yarburgh-Bateson, 2nd Baron Deramore of Belvior was born on 2 April 1823.1 He was the son of Sir Robert Bateson, 1st Bt. and Catherine Dickson.2 He married Mary Elizabeth Yarburgh, daughter of George John Yarburgh and Mary Antonia Hilton, on 8 May 1862.1 He died on 29 April 1893 at age 70.1
     George William de Yarburgh-Bateson, 2nd Baron Deramore of Belvior was baptised with the name of George William Bateson.3 He was educated at Rugby College, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.1 On February 1876 his name was legally changed to George William Bateson-Yarburgh.3 On 15 April 1876 his name was legally changed to George William Bateson de Yarburgh by Royal Licence.3 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baron Deramore of Belvoir, co. Down [U.K., 1885] on 1 December 1890.3 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Bateson, of Belvior Park, co. Down [U.K., 1818] on 1 December 1890.1 He lived at Heslington Hall, Yorkshire, England.1 On 1892 his name was legally changed to George William de Yarburgh-Bateson by Royal Licence.3

     Lucy Caroline Fife was the daughter of William Henry Fife.1 She married Robert Wilfred de Yarburgh-Bateson, 3rd Baron Deramore of Belvior, son of George William de Yarburgh-Bateson, 2nd Baron Deramore of Belvior and Mary Elizabeth Yarburgh, on 15 July 1897.1 She died on 26 October 1901.1
     As a result of her marriage, Lucy Caroline Fife was styled as Baroness Deramore of Belvoir on 15 July 1897. From 15 July 1897, her married name became de Yarburgh-Bateson.1
