     William James Higginson is the son of Brig.-Gen. Cecil Pickford Higginson.1 He married Harriet Elizabeth Maud Dobbs, daughter of Francis Stewart Dobbs and Charlotte Litton, on 25 July 1940.1 He and Harriet Elizabeth Maud Dobbs were divorced in 1968.1

     He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the King's Own Scottish Borderers.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the 5th Battalion, RI Rifles (RARO).1 He lived at Glynn, County Antrim, Ireland.1

     He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.1 He fought in the Boer War.1 He gained the rank of Private in the service of the Thornycroft Mounted Infantry.1 He was with HM Customs, South Africa.1
