     Denis Cairnes is the son of Douglas Stein Cairnes and Alice Norman.2 He married Verena Fisher, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Donal Rutherford Dacre Fisher, on 15 February 1964.1
     He was educated at St. Edward's School, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He lived in 1976 at Thames Cottage, 1 Thames Bank, London, EnglandG.1

     Margaret Marian Agnes Edmunds was the daughter of Lewis Humfrey Edmunds.1 She married Major Francis Herbert Cairnes, son of William Plunket Cairnes and Alice Jane Algar, on 27 August 1919.1 She and Major Francis Herbert Cairnes were divorced in 1931.1 She died on 27 May 1966.1
     From 27 August 1919, her married name became Cairnes.1
