Ponsonby May Lynn Carew was born on 13 April 1865.1 He was the son of Robert Thomas Carew and Henrietta Browne-Clayton.2 He married, firstly, Jane Stacey, daughter of Reverend Cyril Stacey, on 9 June 1894.1 He married, secondly, Vida Hope Carmichael Story, daughter of Lt.-Col. Robert Story, on 6 January 1910.3 He married, thirdly, Rachel Gresson, daughter of Major William Henry Gresson, in February 1928.3 He died on 24 May 1934 at age 69.3
