     Alexander Wallis Clark was born on 25 March 1857.2 He was the son of William Clark and Marianne Elizabeth Paul Newport.3,1 He married Frances Lucinda Caroline Carpendale, daughter of William Maxwell Carpendale and Catherine Ann Horner, on 6 September 1893.2 He died on 14 November 1937 at age 80.2
     He was educated at Royal Lancaster Grammar School, Lancaster, Lancashire, England.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Derry in 1912.2 He was chairman of William Clark & Sons Ltd between 1913 and 1937.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Derry in 1918.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Derry in 1922.2 He was member of the Advisory Committee, Ulster Bank Ltd at Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland.2 He lived at Ampertaine House, Upperlands, County Derry, Ireland.4
