     Frances Mary Hester Bowles was the daughter of Captain Francis Alan Richard Bowles.2 She married Commander Noel Wilbraham Dixon, son of Edward Wilbraham Dixon and Alice Isobel Hardcastle Sykes, on 18 July 1917.1 She died on 3 March 1941, while on active service.1
     Frances Mary Hester Bowles gained the rank of Senior Commandant in the service of the Auxiliary Territorial Service.1 From 18 July 1917, her married name became Dixon.
